Hilton appoints former Uber marketing chief
Former Uber marketing VP Kellyn Smith Kenny has been tapped as Hilton’s next marketing chief.
Kenny takes over as SVP and chief marketing officer at Hilton effective January 29, 2018 and will oversee the enterprise marketing strategy for Hilton’s 14 brands.
At Uber, Kenny led marketing strategy for the US and Canada and was previously in charge of marketing and brand strategy at Capital One for its consumer banking division.
"With Kellyn as our new marketing leader, we are excited to embark on the next chapter of our journey to build stronger direct relationships with our guests," said Jon Witter, Hilton’s chief customer officer.
Kenny replaces Geraldine Calpin and will be based at Hilton’s global HQ in McLean, Va.
"I am looking forward to being part of the entrepreneurial spirit that drives the success of the business, and am proud to be joining a team of industry-leading marketing professionals," Kenny said.
