Holiday Inn Express is cleaning up
Noting that three out of four US adults are unhappy with their hotel bathrooms, Holiday Inn Express is rolling out a $20 million SimplySmart bathroom upgrade.
The upgrade involves 1,300 North American properties and due to be complete in April, includes new showerheads and towels.
Holiday Inn Express says a Harris Interactive survey found guests’ top complaint was that the water pressure in hotels is too low or too high. A major concern was for more bathroom space. Another complaint was the quality of the bath linens.
Initial response to the new bathrooms has been so enthusiastic that Holiday Inn is offering the showerheads for sale.
The chain said it invested 30,000 hours to identify and test the SimplySmart upgrade.
