British holidaymakers plan to sue TUI over several bouts of sickness at a five-star resort in Egypt.

Legal action claims 36 British guests suffered gastric symptoms while staying at the Jaz Aquamarine Hotel in Hurghada over several months in 2019.

Four were were hospitalised and eight people contracted Salmonella.

Others had Giardiasis, E.Coli and Shigella.

All had booked stays via TUI.

Hannah Clifford of the law firm handling the case, said: “To hear that so many people were struck down with debilitating illness after staying at the hotel is deeply concerning.”

“These types of illnesses can lead to severe long-term conditions and should never be downplayed.”

“The families continue to have questions regarding what they’ve been through, but TUI have thus far failed to engage with us,” Clifford added.
