Holidaymakers support Egypt with ‘we love Sharm’ banners
Holidaymakers ‘stranded’ in Sharm el Sheikh have come out in support of the resort, posting a picture with ‘We love Sharm’ banners.
The pictures of tourists, at the Soho Square entertainment complex in Sharm, were posted on industry Facebook page, Travel Gossip, as reports suggested hotels are sending hundreds of staff home on a month’s holiday due to the tourism crisis.
Agents report that tourists are being well looked after in resort and those who are already booked to go have not been put off.
Mair Jones of Bordessa Holidays in Wales, said: "Holidaymakers are perfectly happy out there and are being kept well informed by reps.
"It is very well organised and those on the same flight home are being moved into one hotel.
"I’ve already booked to go to Sharm next year and the clients I’ve spoken to are happy to go ahead with their holidays next year."
Another said: "We are "stranded" here for a further 3 days…..!! Please assure your customers it’s 110% safe here in Sharm …the weather is fab 35+ everyday and the locals/hotels are desperate for this situation to be rectified…our hotel alone has had 200 staff sent home on a month’s vacation….very sad."
