Hot airline meals getting even skimpier
The rear galleys or kitchen areas of American Airline’s MD-80 jets are being removed and replaced with four seats.
Delta also said it is considering a similar move.
The move is the “most vivid sign that hot meals on passenger flights will never return — at least for those sitting in coach,” wrote The Washington Post.
The move could very well be emulated by other airlines seeking to add revenues.
AA officials say they will save $34 million a year from the reconfiguration.
The MD-80s make up almost half of American’s fleet.
