The American Hotel & Lodging Association is collaboatingg in a new strategic relationship with the Latino Hotel Association.

Starting 1 January 2021, the two organizations will work together to advance policy and advocacy efforts of the U.S. hotel industry.

They also aim to grow industry investment for the benefit of Latino owners and operators.

"This relationship will allow LHA to leverage AHLA’s scale and resources in government affairs, communications and membership development, while enabling LHA to focus on our core mission of growing Latino investment," said Lynette Montoya, President and CEO of the Latino Hotel Association.

AHLA and LHA have been collaborating informally on advocacy and relief efforts since the Covid-19 pandemic began to decimate travel.

LHA will also have representation on AHLA’s Board of Directors.

"At such a critical time for our industry, speaking to policymakers with a single voice is imperative. We look forward to aligning and integrating LHA’s unique perspective and voice with AHLA," said Chip Rogers, president and CEO of AHLA.
