HotelConnect gets more agent-friendly
Accommodation portal, HotelConnect has relaunched its trade website that it hopes will help agents convert more quotes to bookings.
The new website, www.agents.hotelconnect.co.uk is designed with a number of new features in response to agent feedback. This includes the ability to hold rooms for up to three days, which previously had to be done over the phone.
Booking tracking, reviewing past bookings and running reports are also possible online. Previously agents had to call HotelConnect to request complex reports like searching the top ten destinations booked by their customers.
HotelConnect has been running for over ten years and offers properties in 150 countries. It also sells direct to consumers through www.hotelconnect.co.uk, but the majority of its business through agents.
Marketing manager Nicky Clarke told TravelMole: “The previous agents website was running for about four years. This new website was not just about getting a new look and structure but about replacing the architecture of the site and giving us a new platform from which to build on.”
Agents can also now email customers with hotel and destination information before they have booked or with confirmation vouchers after they have booked. The email can be branded with the agency logo so it comes from the agent rather than Hotel Connect. According to HotelConnect feedback from agents suggests it is helping to convert more quotes into bookings.
