Hotwire now booking Best Western

Tuesday, 28 Jul, 2005 0

Hotwire.com reached a global distribution agreement with Best Western International.

Travelers will now be able to book rates for Best Western via Hotwire throughout North America and Europe.

“Hotwire helps Best Western attract customers and revenues efficiently by offering rooms that would otherwise remain un-booked to an established network of price-conscious customers,” said Beth Delci, managing director of eBusiness at Best Western.

Hotwire uses an opaque system where shoppers see a discounted rate, but not the hotel brand, before booking.

Hotwire maintains that its system targets customers who are not generally a hotel’s brand-loyal customers, but instead are new travelers who would not have otherwise booked the room.

Hotwife’s opaque is posted-price, meaning hotels set the net rates.
