Iberia set for largest ever Latin America summer season
Spain flag carrier Iberia will this year operate its largest ever summer season flying to Latin America.
The airline will offer a total of 3,354,159 seats, marking 7.6% growth compared to last summer.
The capacity increase is made possible by the development of its Flight Plan 2030..
This seat increase is concentrated in key markets such as Argentina, where operations to Buenos Aires will rise to 23 weekly frequencies during June, July and August, up from the current 21.
As a result, Buenos Aires will become the airline’s first long-haul destination to exceed three daily flights.
On this route alone, Iberia will offer 456,000 seats, 12% more than last summer.
Mexico will also see a capacity increase with the launch of a new route.
From 2 June, Iberia will begin operating direct flights between Madrid and Monterrey, with three weekly flights.
This significant growth also extends to Brazil.
The recent addition of Recife and Fortaleza flights, together with increased operations to Rio de Janeiro, represents close to 400,000 seats, 15% more than in summer 2025.
Meanwhile, the Dominican Republic will also have enhanced connectivity.
During the European summer season, the destination will have up to 11 weekly frequencies, compared to the 7–8 weekly flights operated in 2025.
Connectivity between Puerto Rico and Europe will also expand this summer.
Additionally, the Santiago de Chile–Madrid route will see increased seat capacity for the summer season, following the rise in frequencies over the past year to the current 12 weekly flights.
Iberia will offer nearly 240,000 seats between the two cities.
