Icelandair carried a record number of passengers in February
Icelandair’s monthly passenger traffic jumped 15% in February.
It was its busiest ever February.
It carried 289,000 passengers in total, with nearly a third transiting through Iceland.
The number of passengers to and from Iceland increased by 20% and 19% respectively.
Load factor was 79.9%, with on-time performance at 88.9.
The airline’s charter flight business also grew by a quarter.
Bogi Nils Bogason, Icelandair President and CEO said: “I’m very pleased to see the continued success of our current network strategy. This aligns well with our strong emphasis on reducing seasonality and leveraging the flexibility of our network.”
“Our customers continue to respond positively to our growth during wintertime, with load factors increasing on a 15% year‑over‑year increase in capacity.”
