IHG introducing InterContinental brand to Auckland
InterContinental Hotels Group is bringing its flagship brand to Auckland.
In partnership with Precinct Properties, InterContinental Auckland will open in 2022 and have 244 guest rooms.
The hotel will anchor the $1 billion Commercial Bay mixed-use waterfront development, with 90% of rooms offering water views.
Hotel amenities include all-day dining and bars, a gym, meeting space and the signature Club InterContinental.
It is located just 20km from Auckland Airport.
"It’s high time Auckland got a taste of the InterContinental Life, so we are very excited about this announcement. Being part of such an iconic mixed-use development ensures the hotel, dining, retail and commercial components form a symbiotic relationship," said Abhijay Sandilya, IHG’s Senior Director of Development – Australasia.
InterContinental Auckland becomes New Zealand’s second after InterContinental Wellington.
IHG currently has 48 hotels open in Australasia in four brands, which also includes Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express.
It also has a further 22 in the development pipeline.
