The good and the great of the Sydney travel community gathered at the Hilton this week to say farewell to Ili Matatolu the very well known and liked Regional Director for Fiji in Australia.

Ili’s successor, Paresh Pant, currently Regional Director for Fiji in New Zealand was also at the event which came at a very difficult time for the Fiji tourism industry.

Bill Gavoka, CEO of Fiji Visitor Bureau briefed the group on the current situation in Fiji and he was supported by Aaron McGrath, MD of Sonaisali Resort who is also a member of the Tourism Action Group, which is meeting this morning to put Fiji’s tourism recovery plan in place.

Ili is moving to Los Angeles to take on the role of Regional Director USA and The Mole wishes her the very best in her new role and also wishes Paresh the very best in his new role here in Australia.
