Ilker Ayci declines Air India CEO offer
Two weeks after being announced as CEO and Managing Director of Air India, Ilker Ayci has declined the company’s offer. Ayci, former chairman of Turkish Airways, declined it because of attempts of the Indian media ‘to colour my appointment with undesirable colours, ’he said.
It is a big setback for Air India Tata Group. Ayci is ‘grateful to the Tata Group ‘for extending the opportunity to lead Air India.’
“I have come to the conclusion that it would not be an honourable decision to accept the position in the shadow of such narrative,” he added.
