Indian flight crews on home quarantine after two passengers get coronavirus
The cabin crew of an IndiGo flight have been placed on home observation after working a flight with a coronavirus infected passenger.
All four crew members on the Dubai-Bengaluru flight are on home quarantine.
The passenger, a software engineer from Hyderabad, attended meetings in Dubai with colleagues from Hong Kong.
After getting off the plane at Bengaluru, he took a bus to Hyderabad.
"The affected passenger in Hyderabad travelled on IndiGo on February 20, 2020. Under the guidance of APHO Bangalore, all four cabin crew who operated this flight have been placed on home observation immediately," an airline statement said.
"We are following all the prescribed Airport Health Organization guidelines and are taking preventive measures for our crew operating flights to regions affected by coronavirus."
The same day, health minister Harsh Vardhan confirmed another positive coronavirus case after a Delhi resident returned from Europe on an Air India flight last week.
He subsequently tested positive this week, and the Air India crew were also placed on home observation as a precaution.
The country now has 29 confirmed cases.
