India’s airlines have aircraft orders for over 1,100
Air India’s record-breaking aircraft orders take the number of jets on order for Indian carriers to more than 1,000.
There are a total of 1,115 planes on the order books for various India based carriers.
Air India is buying 470 planes, split between Boeing and Airbus aircraft orders.
It is estimated to be worth about $80 billion.
Market leader IndiGo has around 500 planes on order.
Carrier Go First has 72 planes on order Vistara has an existing order for 17 Boeing jets.
Currently, India’s airlines operate about 700 commercial aircraft in the country.
