Inteletravel agent mocked for using Tinder to recruit new members
An Inteletravel member has been mocked by established travel agents for using a dating app to entice new recruits to the US-based travel agency network.
A member called ‘Wayne’ posted a message in his Tinder profile encouraging others to join Inteletravel as independent travel agents.
The profile was spotted by a travel agent, who said she matched with him on the popular dating app. She wrote on the Facebook group Travel Gossip that the post had left her ‘actually howling’.
In his profile, Wayne describes himself as ‘a busy entrepreneur’ looking to share ‘an exciting opportunity with anyone who wants to make an extra income in the travel industry’. He also mentions ‘all the perks’ they could receive working as an independent travel agent.
Commenting on the Facebook post, one Travel Gossip member replied: "Nothing wrong with that, after all, isn’t Tinder all about screwing!"
Another member suggested ‘Wayne’ should ‘get on Love Island’.
Last year, former TOWIE star Mario Falcone was criticised by travel agents for using his Facebook page to recruit Inteletravel members, claiming that he would ‘mentor’ them despite the stay-at-home dad lacking long-standing experience as a travel agent. Agents said he was making a joke of the industry and of the networking group.
Inteletravel agents are barred from joining Travel Gossip, despite the homeworking agency gaining ABTA membership almost a year ago.
