InterActive out of ebookers race
InterActiveCorp (IAC) has ruled itself out of a possible takeover of ebookers, for the moment.
IAC owns a number of online brands including Expedia, Hotels.com, TV Travel Shop and Ticketmaster.
In a statement the company said: “In light of recent speculation, IAC announces that it has decided not to participate in discussions relating to a possible offer for ebookers and does not currently intend to make an offer for ebookers.”
However, IAC did not rule out buying ebookers should its Board later decide to make an offer or should an IAC competitor make an offer.
The announcement leaves only Sabre Travel Network and Cendant as possible buyers after Lastminute.com and Amadeus were ruled out last month.
