Former Isango retail vice president Robin Sutherland has been recruited by travelsupermarket.com.
He joins as general manager to take overall responsibility for running travelsupermarket, reporting to managing director Graham Donoghue, who also heads the group’s insurance and home services divisions.
Sutherland has previously worked for Travelzest, Expedia and First Resort.
He said: “Price comparison as an online category has grown rapidly over the last few years and the financial downturn has accelerated that growth.
“I am excited to join the market leader both in travel comparison and the wider category. Competition in the sector is increasing and it is the challenge of staying ahead of the competition that makes this role so interesting.”
Donoghue said: “I am delighted someone with Robin’s background and experience is joining us to drive forward the growth of travel. His appointment will also allow me to focus on my wider responsibilities within the group.
“I am sure Robin will be a strong addition to the senior management team and I look forward to working with him.”
