Hawaii’s second biggest carrier Island Air plans to resume Honolulu-Kona flights from next month.
Island Air is restarting the route after nearly four years and will fly five times daily from June 14.
"Both the community and our travel industry partners have reached out to us asking for more support for the West Hawaii community," Island Air CEO Les Murashige said.
"As we continue to improve our operations and expand our presence in the community, Island Air is proud to once again serve Hawaii Island and provide service to support Hawaii’s families, local businesses and our visitors."
Island Air previously scrapped Kona flights in December 2012.
The airline is starting to expand again after being taken over by two local investor groups.
It had spent the previous year downsizing due to rising operating costs.
The restructured airline last month also restarted services to Kauai which were scrapped in 2015.
It is touting a special introductory fare for the Honolulu-Kona service with fares from $69 for travel between June 14 and September 30.
