Istanbul protests after bomb in Turkey kills more than 30 people
Pro-Kurd demonstrators have clashed with Turkish police is Istanbul after a bomb attack in the Turkish town of Suruc which killed at least 30 people.
Hundreds of protesters gathered in Taksim Square blaming the government for the explosion on the border with Syria which wounded around 100 other people.
Officials say it may have been caused by a female suicide bomber from the Islamic State group.
Turkey’s Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said initial findings suggested the attack was the work of IS, adding: "Turkey has taken and will continue to take all necessary measures against Islamic State," reports Reuters.
The Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) already advise against all travel to within 10 km of the border with Syria.
Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond condemned the attack, saying: said: "The UK condemns all acts of terrorism in the strongest terms and will continue to work closely with our Turkish partners on tackling the threat from international and domestic terrorism."
