Jamaica tourism boss opts for airline switch

Friday, 02 May, 2006 0

Jamaica Tourist Board tourism director Paul Pennicook is to move to Air Jamaica as sales and marketing senior vice-president.

He takes up his new position on June 1 having completed his term of office at the tourist board.

The search to find a replacement has started with the JTB saying the process will be handled “expeditiously”.

The island’s tourism minister Aloun N’dombet-Assamba said: “We wish Paul the utmost success as he joins the Air Jamaica team and I have no doubt in my mind that he will endow them with the same level of energy, creativity and dynamism that he brought to the Jamaica Tourist Board.”

The leadership of the JTB met with the minister and heads of the US, Canadian and European markets to review a recently approved marketing plan for the 2006-07. The minister encouraged the JTB to continue to forge strong partnerships with the private sector as the board seeks to implement the marketing plan.
