Jamaican resort offer influenza vaccinations
A Jamaican resort is offering a new attraction aimed at securing the business of more American tourists – flu vaccinations. A
ccording to the Jamaica Observer newspaper, the Grand Lido Negril resort is offering “wellness packages” – including yoga classes, personal fitness training and an influenza vaccination for anyone unable to get one in the US.
About half of the US’s flu vaccine supply is not available this year. The package, which costs $294 per night, is available for the rest of November.
Marketing vice president Zein Nakash is quoted as saying: “There is no shortage of flu vaccines in Jamaica and there’s no mad rush of people trying to get one.” He added that demand for the vaccine-package had been high.
