Mark Bloxham has been appointed managing director of James Villa Holidays as the company looks to work more closely with the trade.

He takes over from Malcolm Hoad who is leaving the company after eight years and will oversee the growth of both James Villa Holidays and Villas4You which is sold exclusively through independent travel agents.

Bloxham, who joined Wyndham Vacation Rentals UK last year as marketing director for James Villa Holidays and Villas4You brands, was previously marketing director at Teletext Holidays.

Geoff Cowley said: "I’ve been hugely impressed with the ideas and results Mark has brought to the business in just a short space of time. We’re investing in our brands and he’s got the drive and energy to take this business to the next level."

Mark Bloxham said: "We see clear space to develop the business particularly through the trade.

"We want to work more closely with our travel agent partners and that will be one of my first priorities."
