Jansen to replace Duncan at MyTravel
Duncan Wilson has resigned as UK and Ireland chief executive of MyTravel. The departure of the travel group’s UK head comes as no surprise following days of speculation in the national and trade press. MyTravel says Mr Wilson resigned, with immediate effect, from both the board and his executive position. However he will stay on for the transition period reporting to chief executive, Peter McHugh. He is replaced by the current chief operating officer, Philip Jansen. MyTravel Group chairman Eric Sanderson said Mr Wilson had “seen MyTravel in the UK through a particularly difficult time”. He added: “Having begun the process of restructuring the UK charter and distribution business, Duncan feels his current role has come to a natural conclusion and the board accepts that it is the appropriate time for him to move on.” MyTravel also announced that it will release its year-end results next Thursday, 11 December.
