Japan’s Zipair scraps ‘Z’ logo over Russia military link
Japanese budget carrier Zipair is ditching its current tail design on aircraft. The ‘Z’ will be removed as it has connotations with the same symbol painted on Russian tanks fighting in Ukraine.
Zipair president Shingo Nishida noted the similarity and the negative implications it might attract. The ‘Z’ has currently been masked by a decal design and all aircraft will be repainted by the end of the year.
Zipair operates a fleet of four Boeing 787-8 aircraft.
