Jenny Lourey leaves Carnival Australia
Jenny Lourey has resigned from Carnival Australia to focus on the management of businesses established by her late husband, Wayne Tregaskis, who died following a boating accident in January.
Her resignation as senior vice president is effective immediately.
“Although I am leaving Carnival Australia after four wonderful years, I’m also sure I now have cruising in the blood so I’m looking forward to staying in contact with the business for a long time to come,” she said.
“Travel has been at the heart of most of my working life and I plan to maintain this connection in my new business activities.”
Tregaskis, a public affairs and marketing executive at Qantas in the early 90s, later co-founded worldnomads.com and ran his own Sydney-based PR and marketing business S2i Communications, which specialised in the travel, aviation and tourism sectors.
Carnival Australia has launched an external search for Jenny’s replacement.
Carnival Australia chief executive Ann Sherry said, “We will naturally be sad to see Jenny go but I am also sure everyone will understand why she has made this personal decision at this time.
“Jenny has contributed enormously to the transformation of our commercial capability.
“A testament to her involvement across a wide range of activities is the double digit growth that Carnival Australia has achieved in all the years she has been part of the team.”
