Jet2holidays marks sustainable hotel milestone
Tour operator Jet2holidays has reached a landmark 1,500 hotels in its ‘Certified Sustainable Hotel’ collection.
This marks an almost doubling of the collection since its 2023 inception.
The tour operator is targeting a total 3,000 sustainable hotels by 2035.
The hotels meet the standards for sustainable accommodation as part of ABTA’s list of recognised hotel certification schemes.
The scheme allows customers to search and book based on a hotel’s sustainable credentials.
The certification process for these hotels includes meeting standards for reducing energy, water and waste, recycling and reusing products, and supporting local communities.

To mark the milestone and encourage more hotels to get certified, Jet2holidays launched a new sustainable hotel toolkit at ITB Berlin this week.
The toolkit outlines the certification process and its benefits along with real hotel case studies.
The toolkit was developed in partnership with the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE), which operates the Green Key certification programme.
“Our Certified Sustainable hotels collection is a key component of our ambitious sustainability strategy, meaning that customers can easily find and choose accommodation that has achieved a sustainability certification,” said Paul Southall, Head of Sustainability at Jet2.
