JetBlue investigating flight attendant over Jamaica ‘hotel hostage’ claim

JetBlue is investigating the behavior of one of its flight attendants who causied a commotion in Jamaica over a ‘hotel hostage’ situation.

Flight attendant, Kalina Collier claimed she was held against her will in a Jamaica hotel when in reality, she was put into quarantine after a positive Covid test prior to her return home to the US from  vacation.

"We have full confidence in Jamaica’s health protocols and it is important everyone follows the rules," JetBlue spokesperson Derek Dombrowski said.

"We hold each JetBlue crewmember to the highest standards when it comes to personal integrity and we are conducting an urgent investigation into the actions of our crewmember."

Collier had alleged on social media she was being held against her will.

She made a live Instagram post to ‘reach out for help,’ which quickly led to the #SaveKalinaCollier hastag trending.

Jamaica authorities said it was a baseless claim and ‘is not, nor was she at any time, in any danger.’

She was placed in isolation, as per the country’s Covid-19 protocols for positive vases, authorities said.

Jamaica warned people to ‘desist from sharing social media posts claiming Collier has been kidnapped.’

Collier’s post was ‘baseless and mischievous’ Jamaica Police said.

She has just flown back to the US after completing the mandatory quarantine.
