JetBlue names Fort Lauderdale as new JetBlue Travel Products HQ
JetBlue has chosen sunny Fort Lauderdale to be the new home for its new integrated Travel Products unit.
JetBlue Travel Products will be headquartered in South Florida due to JetBlue’s existing strong roots there.
It is the top carrier at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport and employs more than 1,800 local cabin crew members .
The airline now serves 59 destinations from Fort Lauderdale.
The JetBlue Travel Products business includes the JetBlue Vacations brand and other non-air products such as travel insurance, cruises and car rentals.
"Just as our venture capital arm JetBlue Technology Ventures has found success by being based in Silicon Valley, Fort Lauderdale will be the perfect location to grow JetBlue Travel Products. With its vibrant economy, especially in travel and tourism, we believe it makes a lot of sense to base our business here," said Andres Barry, president of JetBlue Travel Products.
JetBlue says Fort Lauderdale is a major hub for international flights to and from the Caribbean and Latin America, regions that now combined, represent about one-third of JetBlue’s network.
JetBlue now serves 102 cities in the US, Caribbean, and Latin America with an average of 1,000 daily flights.
