Jetstar chief executive Alan Joyce yesterday unveiled four three year old refurbished ex Qantas 303 seat Airbus A330s aircraft that will carry the airline’s first international passengers later this month.

The A330’s are the first aircraft in the international fleet with the inaugural flight from Melbourne to Bangkok on November 23, with other being phased in from late November to Japan, Vietnam, Phuket, Bali and Hawaii.

Mr Joyce added that the airline would expand into Europe and North America by 2010.

Jetstar will receive its first Boeing 787 by late 2008 and ultimately replace the current fleet with up to 15 of the planes, with Mr Joyce adding, “We’ve been saying in advertising now for the last few months that it’s all about choice and the first big choice we are offering is StarClass our business class type product at economy prices.”

The Mole flew to the Gold Coast with Jetstar and was very impressed with the whole experience, the quality of staff, customer care and aircraft, which are very smart and clean with good seat pitch ane leather seats.  Allocated seating has transformed this low cost carrier’s ability to deliver quality service.
