Jobs threatened in Travel Network Peterborough closure
Six jobs are under threat at The Travel Network Group after it announced plans to close its office in Peterborough and move its marketing and membership departments to Woking.
The group relocated all of its commercial activities to Woking in February.
Group managing director Gary Lewis said: "This decision has not been an easy one to make. It comes as a result of my management team and I concluding that if we are to continue to drive through change and deliver on our promises to members, we need to consolidate all our business activities in one place.
"Also, we fundamentally believe that the Worldchoice Membership team, above all, needs to sit at the heart of our business and therefore needs to operate beside all the Group’s other core functions."
Si Prentice, a recent addition to the Group’s management team, will become the group marketing director.
"Our business is undergoing a period of change – change that we believe will make us even more effective for our members and business partners," said Lewis.
"We will be sharing our plans for the further development of Worldchoice at our forthcoming conference in Lake Bled, as well as sharing our exciting plans for marketing.
"We believe, this decision is in the long-term interests of our members. As part of the change we will be looking to provide improved support to them and new initiatives to help grow their businesses."
