JTB resignations follow investigations
Several senior members of the Jamaica Tourist Board have resigned in the wake of anonymous allegations of impropriety and an internal audit investigating them.
The JTB has accepted the resignations of deputy director of tourism for the Americas Noel Mignott; accountant/administrator Yvonne Sawyers; and advertising relations manager Marie Deeble Walker.
The departures came during an emergency board meeting to consider the allegations against the three officers in New York and the preliminary results of the investigation being conducted.
“The Jamaica Tourist Board wishes to reiterate its commitment to a policy of transparency in the conduct of its operations,” said a JTB statement.
The JTB will launch a $2.6m cable TV and consumer print advertising campaign towards the end of the month.
