Jumeirah to open Mauritius resort
Dubai-based Jumeirah Group is to manage a luxury resort in Mauritius, due to open in 2018.
The hotel, which will be set on 68.5 hectares of land, will be the group’s first in Mauritius.
The group already operates two resorts in the Maldives – Jumeirah Vittaveli and Jumeirah Dhevanafushi.
Meanwhile, Jumeirah chief executive Gerlad Lawless told the Financial Times the group will spend $2.2 billion expanding its luxury brand to from 22 to 40 hotels by 2017.
Jumeirah has five hotels in development in China and is eyeing expansion in Africa.
