Escorted tour operator Kaleidoscope Travel Group has recruited Nathan Philpot as group sales and marketing director.
He will take responsibility for the management of the Travelsphere, Page & Moy and Just You brands and 200 staff from February 1.
Philpot, 38, was previously managing director of Elegant Resorts and has previous experience at WEXAS, Kuoni, Eurotunnel and P&O.
After an exhaustive search, Philpot is the final appointment in a new team under group CEO William Burton following a financial restructuring just over a year ago.
The group claims to have achieved “significant profits” ahead of expectation during 2009.
Philpot said: “Over the past few years it has become evident that travellers are searching for enriching experiences when on holiday. Escorted touring offers a depth of insight and cultural experience that is not encountered on any other type of holiday.”
Burton said: “I am delighted to have appointed Nathan. He has accumulated a wealth of knowledge with some of the UK’s leading travel companies.
“We have some very ambitious plans and I have no doubt that his strategic thinking, marketing skills and enthusiasm will complement our existing team, ensuring we continue to grow.”
