Kate and Wills spark Maldives surge
Kate and Wills taking a second honeymoon in the Maldives has sparked an uplift in interest.
Following the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s visit to the resort of Cheval Blanc Randheli, Travelsupermarket has seen searches to the Maldives up by 15%.
Bob Atkinson, travel expert at TravelSupermarket said: "It’s no secret that where The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge travel, the world will follow, but the interesting thing about their most recent trip to the Maldives is that holiday searches have risen, irrespective of the destination posing a once in a lifetime trip for many Brits.
"The Maldives is an exotic paradise that many people dream to visit, and so seeing the royals photographed against stunning beachside backdrops, enjoying a week together without their first born son, has inspired sun-seekers to search and see if it is within their budget to sample for themselves one day."
