Kent launches ‘Visit by Rail’ campaign

A high profile media campaign to attract more London visitors has been launched by tourism agency Visit Kent and rail operator Southeastern.

The campaign, themed ‘Discover Kent…It’s About Time..’ encourages Londoners to use the capital’s convenient train links and off peak fares to sample days out and short breaks in Kent and Medway this summer.

Visit Kent CEO Sandra Matthews-Marsh said: “At a time when the environment, rising fuel costs and financial concerns are increasingly influencing travel choices this campaign allows us to showcase Kent to millions of people using London’s transport system.

“Throughout the summer we will be reminding the capital that a train ride to Kent’s open spaces, historic locations, refreshing coastline and fun visitor attractions is a great value day out.”

‘Discover Kent…It’s About Time..’ runs until October and includes posters at central London stations, London Underground, in train and tube carriages and on London buses, a bespoke leaflet and micro-site, plus the distribution of postcards at main line rail stations.
