Khiri Travel gains companywide Travelife certification

Thursday, 20 Feb, 2020 0

Asia based Khiri Travel is celebrating a ‘full house’ sustainability milestone.

In recent days, Khiri Travel’s operations in Sri Lanka, Cambodia and Laos all earned Travelife certifications for the first time.

They join all other offices which are Travelife certified.

That makes Khiri the first destination management company in Southeast Asia to be certified across all its office locations.

Travelife certification is a three-stage process which follows strict criteria set out by the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development.

It covers labour conditions, human rights, environmental responsibilities, biodiversity and fair business practices within the company and supply chains.

"With full Travelife certification in all our destinations, clients can rest assured that they are working with a responsible operator who cares about the bigger picture and has the processes and metrics in place to prove it," said CEO Herman Hoven.

Travelife certification for tour operators and travel agents breaks down into three different stages: engaged, partner and certified.

"By working together, leading DMCs can set industry standards and positively influence the behaviour of suppliers," said Travelife general manager of tour operators and travel agents Naut Kusters.
