Kimpton adding second Atlanta hotel
Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants is adding a second property in Atlanta, due to open next year.
The Kimpton Buckhead is a 216-room adaptive reuse hotel and is being developed by Atlanta developer Portman Holdings.
Porrtman is converting the historic 1950s residential building to house a ground-floor Kimpton restaurant and bar, a courtyard dining venue, a private pool and rooftop lounge.
The hotel will also feature approximately 3,000 square feet of meetings and events space.
"We’re thrilled to expand our presence with a second Kimpton hotel in the Atlanta market. The partnership with Portman Holdings allows us the perfect opportunity to bring Kimpton to the Buckhead neighbourhood," said Kimpton CEO Mike DeFrino.
It joins the Kimpton Overland Atlanta Airport which opened earlier this year.
The Buckhead neighborhood is home to some of the most upscale specialty shops, boutiques and dining.
Kimpton has a pipeline of 25 hotels due to open globally within the next three to five years in destinations like Mexico City, Paris, Barcelona, Bali and Shanghai.
