Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants has unveiled expansion plans in Florida with two new hotels scheduled to open in 2018.

The new build Kimpton Hotel Palomar South Beach is coming to Miami Beach, featuring 96 guestrooms, a signature restaurant and rooftop bar.

The boutique hotel’s sleek design is being created by noted Miami architect and designer Kobi Karp.

"Miami continues to be one of the hottest tourist destinations in North America and has become an increasingly popular destination for international travelers as well. Kimpton Hotel Palomar South Beach will be a wonderful addition to our properties in sunny South Florida," said Mike DeFrino, Kimpton CEO.

Kimpton will also manage a new boutique hotel in Tampa’s Westshore neighbourhood.

With 150 rooms and suites, the five story hotel will incorporate a unique Italianate design and the first US restaurant from Michelin-starred Tuscan chef Silvia Baracchi.

Other amenities include a rooftop bar and venue, and more than 4,000 square feet of indoor meeting space.
