Kimpton Hotels checking in to Asia
InterContinental Hotels Group is pushing further into Asia with the debut of its Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants brand in Bali and two properties coming to China.
Kimpton Bali will open in 2019 in the island’s Nusa Dua resort area, featuring 50 luxury villas.
Following that, a pair of 2021 openings are planned in China, with the Kimpton Shanghai Jing’an, which will have 150 guestrooms and 120 villas, and the 251-room beachfront Kimpton Resort Sanya Haitang Bay.
"Asia has always attracted travellers who are eager to discover something new and fully immerse themselves in both the destination and local culture," Kimpton CEO, Mike DeFrino said in a statement.
Located mostly in the US and the Caribbean, Kimpton recently expanded to Europe wth the opening of the Kimpton De Witt in Amsterdam and currently operates over 60 hotels and more than 70 restaurants and bars.
IHG’s wellness and lifestyle brand Even Hotels is also coming to Shanghai and Sanya as part of a quartet of new signings which also includes hotels in Chongqing and Jinan.
