Know What Wired Women Want – and Wondering How Your Site Shapes Up

Sunday, 19 Jul, 2006 0

Association of National Tourist Offices Executive Director, Philip Thornily said yesterday that responses to the ANTOR and VISA International afternoon e-marketing seminar, being held at Sydney’s Westin Hotel on Tuesday 8 August 2006 were excellent, but he would not reveal actual numbers.

He did say though that those who wished to attend should register as soon as possible to avoid being disappointed adding, “I am sure that when people see an article like this they think we are saying register quickly because registrations are not good, but in this case, the contrary is most certainly the case and we just do not want potential attendees to be disappointed.”

Speakers at the event include Carolyn Reid, described an expert in gender savvy communication specialist, who told The Mole that one size definitely does not fit all when it comes to websites with women either calling the shots or wielding greater influence when it comes to buying big-ticket items such as travel.

Carolyn is joined by Caroline Brunel E-Marketing and Internet Manager for TravelMole partner organisation Tourism Ireland, who will be exploring the role the internet plays in the travel decision, with 55% of respondents in a recent consumer survey who visited 11 official tourism destination web sites later visiting the destinations.

David Smith, Managing Director of ComTel Resources Pty. Ltd. Technology, will be discussing now that the Web is now recognized as the greatest research tool for both the traveller and agent, if we develop our websites with a strategic objective in mind, can we live with our creation and what role should it play

VISA International’s Andrew Woodward will round off the event sharing the results of VISA International’s recent major research into where and what tourists are spending their money.

ANTOR will also be launching its new industry website – www.antor.travel

Participation in the seminar and the networking drinks reception afterwards is $77pp, including GST and a tax invoice will be provided to all participants.

Registration can be made by email to [email protected] and The Mole suggests that if you really want to secure a place, that you get on with it urgently!
