Kook teams up with Japan rail operator
Tours and activities booking platform Klook has inked a new strategic partnership with Japan rail operator JR-West Rail.
The two companies will partner to promote a range of travel activities across West Japan covering cities including Osaka, Hiroshima and Okayama.
The partnership will focus on inbound Southeast Asia markets.
Klook and JR-West will collaborate on streamlined ticket redemption for Klook customers, value-added inclusive packages, and personalised experiences.
They will jointly promote these initiatives at upcoming Klook Travel Festivals in the Philippines and Malaysia.
"Collaborating with Klook allows us to better engage with today’s travelers through the company’s global network, rapidly growing consumer base, and convenient mobile platform," said Hiroshi Muro, executive officer of marketing at JR-West.
The number of international visitors to the West Japan region has grown more than 40% in the last two years and is expected to reach over 13 million by 2020.
