Thousands of runners from across the globe will participate in this year’s eighth edition of the annual Laguna Phuket International Marathon on Sunday, June 9.

New Australian race entries this year include Melbourne’s ‘Couple on the Run’ duo, Sue and Andrew O’Brien, who will take on the challenge of the full marathon to continue their globetrotting PartnerRunning odyssey with webcasts, blogs and race reports to inspire runners everywhere.

As well as the full 42k marathon there’s a 21.1km half marathon, 10.5km run, a 91.5FM 5km community walk and a 2km children’s race.

Runners and spectators can join fund-raising for the Laguna Phuket Foundation, which supports a number of community and schools charity initiatives.

The mainly flat course takes in rubber and pineapple plantations, beach views, local villages and the lagoons of Laguna Phuket resort.

Online marathon registration is available at www.phuketmarathon.com with special deals at Laguna Phuket hotels also on the website.
