Holiday resort operator Landal GreenParks UK has experienced a bumper first quarter for bookings from overseas holidaymakers.
The strong start to 2024 has seen bookings from overseas surge by 100% in Q1.
The self-catering holiday specialist has seen overall booking volume in first three months grow by 10% compared to 2023.
It cites especially strong demand of guests from Northern Europe.
This region accounts for nearly 20% of all summer bookings in 2024.
“2024 has started very well for the business, and we are probably bucking some of the trends in the wider marketplace, with a really strong level of off-peak bookings,” said Paul Hardingham, MD of Landal GreenParks UK. ”
“We have begun to create strong traction with our European customers, who are looking to replicate the Landal experience they have in mainland Europe at our UK destinations,”
“Having a well known brand already established in Europe gives customers peace of mind when they are booking in the UK.”
The domestic market is still the mainstay of the business, Hardingham says.
He says bookings for May Bank Holidays and peak summer periods are up compared to 2023.
