LAX testing anti-drone tech
Swamped by potentially dangerous drone sightings near Los Angeles International Airport, the Transportation Security Administration is set to trial new drone monitoring technology
It will be able to spot, track and identify drones within restricted airspace.
The federally funded program could be expanded to airports across the country, if successful.
It is also being tested at Miami International Airport
There have been 90 sightings and over 5,000 technical detections of drones within three miles of LAX since last year.
LAX has also been plagued by mysterious sightings of jetpack fliers.
