Learning-focused tour operator announces new cultural trips

The learning-focused tour operator, Educational Odysseys (formerly Interhostel/Familyhostel) announced its newest line of cultural trips, called “Changes in Latitude.”

The company’s tours are designed for active, adventure-minded adults of any age.

To better fit the schedules of travelers who are still working,  “Changes in Latitude” programs are often shorter than the “Destination Classics” programs that cater to adults 50 years and older.

“The ‘Changes in Latitude’ trips offer the same inside view of locations and cultures, but often include activities such as hiking, biking, rafting, or kayaking.  In addition to guided tours, presentations, participation in local events, and interaction with the people of the region, participants are given more time to explore on their own,” the company says.

Some of the trip offerings for this year include: “Argentina: Whales and Penguins;” “Italy: Italian Cuisines and The Best Tuscan Wines;” “Peru: Machu Picchu Highland Discovery,” and “Hawaii: Pathways to Healing—The Pampered Traveler.”

Programs new in 2008 include: “Cambodia & Thailand: Architectural, Cultural, and Natural Wonders,” “Bhutan: A Cultural Introduction”, and “Western Newfoundland & Labrador: North America’s Viking Coast”.
