Lie back and think of Continental – all Boeing 777s now have flatbeds

Monday, 07 Dec, 2010 0

All of Continental Airlines’ Boeing 777 long-haul international flights will feature flat-bed seats in the BusinessFirst cabins from today.

This means passengers flying with the airline between New York’s Newark Liberty International Airport and Beijing, Delhi, Frankfurt, Hong Kong, London Heathrow, Mumbai, Shanghai, Tel Aviv and Tokyo, and between its Houston hub at Bush Intercontinental Airport and London Heathrow and Tokyo will get the 180 degrees treatment.

The seats offer six feet and six inches of sleeping space, are 27 inches wide and have laptop plug-in points, USB plugs plus Ipod connectivity.

Executive vice president and chief revenue officer Jim Compton said: “These seats are highly popular with customers from all over the world, and we will begin installing them on the rest of our widebody fleet beginning next year.”

The seats are currently being fitted on Continental’s fleet of Boeing 757-200s and the airline will retrofit the seats into its Boeing 767s next year.
