Lights, action, tours
Francis Ford Coppola Resorts is offering a new "Lights, Camera, Adventure" package that allows guests to visit three of Coppola’s award–winning resorts: the eco–rainforest Blancaneaux Lodge in the Cayo District; Turtle Inn, the seafront hideaway on the coast of Placencia; and the intimate boutique hotel La Lancha in Guatemala.
“This new all–inclusive 10–day package offers an upscale alternative to traditional group tours without the hassle and expense of booking a la carte,” says the filmmaker’s company.
Prices start at US$2,830 per person; that includes overnight accommodations and travel expenses to all three locations; guided tours of Maya sites, local rainforests and jungle reserves; and presentations by local conservation experts about the regions’ wildlife, ecology and cultural attractions.
In the early 1980s, Francis Ford Coppola visited Belize, immediately fell in love with the location, and purchased the abandoned Blancaneaux Lodge. For more than a decade the resort was used as a family retreat before the famous film director opened his resort to the public in 1993.
