LocoGringo becomes Mexico’s fastest growing site
LocoGringo.com has become Mexico’s fastest growing web site and booking agent.
It should reach sales of nearly $4 million this year and $7 million in 2005, according to Kay Walten, co-owner of the privately held US company.
“We are working to pace our growth with staff additions as we do not want to lose the personal touch,” said Ms Walten, who added repeat business was strong.
The active website, which features daily changes and a monthly newsletter, often features resorts whose rates are the same or below what major advertisers such as Expedia or Travelocity advertise, Ms Walten said.
But perhaps even more importantly, she added, LocoGrinco’s inventory stays off the beaten path of more expensive properties.
The Wall Street Journal rated LogoGrinco com the best online reservation site for getaways to Mexico’s Riviera Maya.
“A great choice for US travelers looking for something different but not a world away,” the newspaper said of Riviera Maya.” With a 75-mile stretch of beach along the Caribbean coast of Mexico, it’s a relatively untapped gem.”
