London City Airport named the UK’s best airport
London City Airport has been voted the Best Airport in the UK in the Condé Nast Traveller UK Readers’ Choice Awards 2025.
The award highlights London City’s commitment to speed, accessibility and comfort, all within minutes of central London.
London City is the closest airport for more than half of all Londoners, and journeys from the front door to the departure gate can take as little as 10 minutes.
More than two-thirds of passengers travel to and from the airport using the DLR and other public transport options.
Alison FitzGerald, CEO of London City Airport, said: “We are truly honoured to be recognised and this award is a reflection of the hard work and dedication of our entire team.
“Over the past few years, we have increasingly become a popular airport for leisure travellers, and we’re taking steps to expand our routes and destinations.”
London City serves over 30 destinations across the UK and Europe including leisure destinations like Ibiza, Palma and Sardinia, and is working closely with airline partners to broaden its network.
British Airways also recently announced it is commencing a new regular service to Madrid from London City, starting in December.
The airport’s recently upgraded terminal features 30% more seating, premium dining and retail choices, and a streamlined security process.
London City is also consistently recognised as London’s most punctual airport.
This award follows two other recent accolades, with The Daily Telegraph and Which? both naming it ‘London’s Best Airport’.
